Re: Got My 35" BFG's on.... ready for MOAB
Great I had zero problems.... its smooth. Equal is a little more expensive but it will last the life time of the tire.

Thanks, I went for a set of BFG TA's. But they take a lot of weights which I always seem to loose one or 2 on the trail. I'll have to find a place that can do it for me.
Don't know when I'll be back down to MOAB. My sister and family are going to Yellowstone in a couple of weeks and I'm going up to visit.
I tried to talk them into MOAB and park in Neo's wood pile. At least I think it would be more fun than Yellowstone.

Re: Got My 35" BFG's on.... ready for MOAB
from the equal web site:
Installing EQUAL is very simple.
With the EQUAL Drop In Bag, our newest development in the Equal program, you will find the installation of Equal easier than ever before! The Drop In Bag can be dropped into a tire before it is mounted and will break apart in approximately 5 to 10 miles. For mounted tires, use the EQUALIZER applicator. The EQUALIZER applicator can install EQUAL through the valve stem in less than 60 seconds. What could be easier!
according to their website - for new tires, you can use the drop in bag and not need to send it in thru the valve stem.
so, mr pat - did you use the drop in bag for your installation?

I just took it to the shop and dropped off the tires and rims, I have the 35" BFG and the stock 33" AT's and swap them out as needed... the next day I just picked them up. They guy never said and I never asked.

Re: Got My 35" BFG's on.... ready for MOAB
Nice BFG's
Equal? Holy Hogwash Batman! (call me skeptical )
So ya put a bunch of ceramic beads in the tires, they roll around (ofcourse they will "go whereever they're needed", it's called "gravity") and as a shock/vibration wave travels inward it is transfered to the beads and the amplitude is decreased so that by the time it gets to the tush on the seat it is noticeably decreased so ya go "Ahhh, that feels good". This is the "Moshi" effect, like those dolls or neck pillows that you take on the plane. Hmmm, but what about the waves that travel outside the tires and on to the body of the vehicle? Do you need a 1mm layer of bead or 5cm layer of bead to actually make a different on the tush? Do road waves/vibrations what matters or is it the big pot hole/crack in the road waves that compresses the tires and travels onto your vetebral column that gets ya? No layer of bead's gonna dampen the latter, me thinks. But hey, educate me on them beads.
