Michael...
"Attitude" is a self-fulfilling prophecy. There is enough attitude in this thread from all parties involved to raise the Titanic.
Know what I mean?

I personally thought this was a pretty classy website, but I'm dissappointed to see that the blatantly racist comment of "no one in their white mind" made it through, and was allowed to stay up. I find it very offensive, and the writer is more low rent than the HumDeVille!!!!

When I read "Northerner", "South", and "ignorant" in the same sentence, all I can say is:

acesfull, you take yourself too seriously, you assume you are better and more intelligent than the others. What each one of us at that dinner have done and donated to the poor or disadvantaged in one year, regardless of their colors, could well surpass what you ever done in a lifetime. Sufficed to say that you will not change my mind and I'll not change your mind, let's leave it at that.
That reminds me of a conversation 20 years ago in Birmingham Alabama. My ex-wife's current husband was a police Captain in Birmingham, he and I turned out to be good friends and fraternity brothers, he was known to be one of the firsts to promote blacks, helped blacks and risked his life to save blacks, not a popular thing to do in Birmingham decades ago. Yet in private conversation at home, he and his friends told me they'd never socialize with blacks nor have blacks in their homes. I thought about this many times throughout the years; that clearly marked them as racists, yet what he and those few likeminded folks have quietly done far outweighted the contribution, sound and words of most others like you.
Take it easy.

My apologies for not specifying that my "vette" comment was gender-specific.
Call me your typical sexist, but I happen to appreciate a female in a vette
And thanks for your comments...I fundamentally agree with the notion that conversions like this are not for the masses...but I also agree that the exercise of modifying something is part of the onward expansion of the custom truck sport...and I am all for that

You have to wonder what these people were sitting around doing to come up with this (idea) if you can call it that... I think that Cadillac and Hummer need to be contacted about this... Immediately... Maybe they can put it out of its misery...
Can we call it a CADUMMER????? Or a Humilac???

Not hijacking the thread, just going to poke at Chris like I always do. How do you figure the vette doesn't handle well? It's out done the Viper until this year if I remember correctly, and it also outhandles the NSX as well. To each his own, I understand you aren't a big fan of the car, but don't bash it for something that isn't true!

Roadsurfer-
I appreciate the work you put into this even though it's not to my taste however, I do have some questions for you. I'm interested in the hood and how it is "grafted" to the body. I would appreciate you posting more detailed pics of the hood top near the windshield and with the hood opened.
Thanks.

Road Surfer,
When it degrades to name calling i.e. "princess" I stop. If you feel the need to send me something directly just open a private topic and send it to me.
Good Luck with your business.

Sigh.....son, you're gonna have to pay closer attention if you want this schoolin' to pay off....I dont have inexhaustible patience, you know.
But, lets revist, shall we: First, discrediting an object is not the same as discrediting an individual, unless that individual identifies SO strongly with that object that he/she takes that criticism as a personal insult.
The english language has a word for that..."Materialism". Materialism is the worshiping of tangible objects.
So, here's the test: Does my identifying that the mid-bumper wings, snorkel pods, and non-fucntional cowl vents are goofy cause you personal distress?
Does my emphasis on the fact that the mid-bumper wings are a cheesy afterthought (have you looked closely at those things!? It amazes me that such in-your-face abuse of the consumer doesnt give you pause....I mean, how "Chryler-esque!") cause you to feel personally insulted?
The thing is JUST an object. The truck does not define one, unless one must be externally validated. If one IS defined by what one drives...then we have the spectre of materialism to deal with...
So, yeah. My opinion is, obviously...that its just a truck. And particularly fun to cut up, because it lights SO many peoples asses on fire
Finally...you suggested that I just insulted all H2 owners...well, sport, that ain't entirely accurate. Simply reading the remainder of this thread will prove that.
Cheer up, princess. You'll come around, eventually

Phil....
Honestly, I appreciate the oblique compliment...and there was a lot of work put into it, and I know it doesnt appeal to a broad audience. No problem.
Obviously, I dont care how the thing works off road , nor am I schooled on the appropriate offroad technique and application of the H2....my GUESS is that its probably pretty functional for as big as it is....but, at the end of the day.....its a Suburban with big wheels. And a GVW of 8600lbs...how "nimble" COULD it be!?
Finally....all the hair pulling is pure entertainment...there are few places, outside of making negative comments about my girlfriends choice of nail color, where I can get SUCH aggressive, reactionary behavior. Nothing like telling a disciple that his king is a peasant in pretty clothes to get him to wanna burn you at the stake
I LOVE the H2. There is a LOT I think is cheesy, but I love em....even bone stock. So, I am not a hater....just not married to 'em

I hope this is for a movie and not something that some NBA star ordered to drive around. At least after the movie shoot it will be hidden in a warehouse somewhere.
Also, I think your warranty is now void

Hmmm, I think you took being different to a new level. If someone commissioned you to build this truck then that's ok because whatever NBA star (maybe Kobe bought it for his wife to make up) doesn't have any knowledge of what is tasteful in automobiles. On the other hand, you are a supposed professional that was blinded by money and sold out to make something as awful looking as this. The ONLY way I would congratulate you on your work is if this truck was for a movie and the specs called for a pimped out Caddy/Hummer Hybrid. If that is the case Bravo! If not, back to the business drawing board I guess. You should have given the client some professional direction because this truck will only gain glares of disgust not admiration.

acesfull, what you said is one way to look at it, but then again, most of us cannot take the trash or jokes too seriously, we all from time to say crazy stuff among friends, that does not mean we are evil racists, regardless of the color of your skin. We can't really run through life chasing demons, rescue virgins, nor can we constantly look over our shoulders to see if ACLU, NAACP or Jewish league or NOW or whatever other self-appointed institutions maybe watching or suing us. It is really no big deal, take it easy.
Almost every minute of my waking hours I am extremely careful about what I say, and I make a serious effort to be an equal, fair, just and a better man, but I am getting a bit sick and tired of being so careful to the point of being scared or affraid of even talking to close friends. Any good intentioned remark about race or religion could be misinterpreted.
We went to a 5 hours long French dinner at a friend's house tonight, at one point, we started talking/joking about certain race, I think you could hear the men and women laughing from a block away. None of what we said could ever be printed or be known outside that dining room. Honestly that happens among best close friends whatever your race maybe, or which race might be the target for the moment. It was just one of the 100 subjects we talked about tonight. None of us are racists, all of us have employees and friends of all colors.
Take it easy.
