Hummertech - when did this bullin come out? I was just up at the dealer on Staurday. They had my truck all week for a few warranty issues. One was the driver side mirror is vibrating ever so slightly (just enough to aggravate the living piss outta me ) when driving down the road. They didn't mention this as a possible solution, but instead said there wasn't really a solution. I'm like most here and not real fond of the new style mirrors, but would consider it to get rid of that damn vibration.

Msg - 2003-2005 HUMMER H2 Outside Rearview Mirrors #HUS20050065 - (Sep 19, 2005)
2003-2005 HUMMER H2 Outside Rearview Mirrors

The outside rearview mirrors have been redesigned for the 2006 HUMMER H2 and are much improved over those used on prior models. Should you have the need to replace a mirror on a 2003-2005 H2, replace both mirrors with the 2006 parts which are a slightly different design. Also, the new mirrors are all chrome - there is no black version (this should be fine for most customers). The new part numbers are 15835056 (LH) and 15835057 (RH).

These new P/Ns are not currently available through GMSPO but are expected to be available the week of October 17, 2005. It is suggested to delay any mirror replacement until that time. However, if a customer prefers not to wait or wants the original mirror, the older parts are available in quantity.

The only problem is that so far they only come with those damn chrome center pieces. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

The dealer is having those chrome strips and the spare tire chrome piece Black Chromed on my new 06 Pewter SUV. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

Oooooh... black chrome is going to be nice.

Thanks Ken, I will give that a shot.

The 05 mirrors don't seem to have the problems like the 03-04's did. I also just found out that the new style mirrors cannot be ordered just yet, so if you need a mirror warrantied and like the old style better then get in now and you can probably get the old style still.

Same here. They replaced them once already about a year ago. If it gets below about 34 degrees they won't fold.

How much? </div></BLOCKQUOTE>Warranty </div></BLOCKQUOTE>
Did something have to be wrong with the ones you had? Is there actually a service bulletin for the 'old' style? </div></BLOCKQUOTE>Of course, something has to be wrong with the ones you have. Mine were vibrating and rattling. I don't know anything about the service bulletin.

Just got my 06 mirrors on my 03 Lux-very nice and much more stable. Gotta get used to the look, but at least the vibration wont drive me crazy.

FYI, Hummer has a new bulletin out instructing dealers that if a mirror needs to be replaced on either side of an H2 from 03-05, to replace both outside mirrors with the 06 style mirrors since they say it is a much better design mirror.

As far as what is better, they say they are more stable, don't become loose at the pivot.
And the fold motor is a better design. If you're out of warranty I supposse you could ask them to try to find the old part number and purchase just one. Or you could purchase both mirrors if you wanted. The better bet would be to try to get your dealer to cover it since it is a known problem.
