I don't know what is going on with the leasing, but the deals have seemed to have gotten worse! My H3 should be here this week and my dealer alluded to the fact that there may be better pricing on the H3s as of 9/7. Not seeing it online!

If you look at my prior post on this thread, I was getting a monthly of $450-$475 with $1600 down on a lux, auto, trailer with the Supplier Discount. Using the same online estimator today, the Hummer site is now telling me $550-$600 per mo. What is up with this???????

It should be an interesting discussion with the dealer. They had told me that the deposit would "lock" my price if it went up and I could still take advantage of any new incentives that may come out.

We'll see if I can get a $450 a month lease...

H3wannabe:

Same thing happened at the end of July with gmbuypower site. Residuals expired on Sept 6, so it somehow defaulted back to really lousy residuals. After a few days back then, they reloaded residuals and deals were the same as before.

As long as they put back in the same residuals as before, you should be able to get the same deal as before. However, if they come back in with lower residuals, you'll be paying more. That's one reason I jumped the gun and got mine last week, I was afraid the deal would get worse.

I can't imagine them doing anything to make the deal better than it was before, even with all of the rumors about "new" incentives coming out. The H3's are just too hot and they are making too much money on them.

Good luck!

As with any attractive new model, there was an initial rush on H3s, but its subsiding. Dealers in the LA area now have lots of H3 inventory; but most are overloaded with options. And with $3+/gal, the SUV trend is declining fast. My GMID authorization is good 'til February so I'm not in a rush to buy.

Just got off the phone with the dealer...good news!! I got the deal I was hoping for. Here are the details:

Retail: $34,695 (lux, auto, tow)
With Supplier Discounted: $31954.64
+ $45 emissions (NH)
+ $27 title fee

36 months
12,000 miles

Residual: 64% (nice!!!)
Money factor : 8.75% (not so nice!)

I gave them $1K down. They are giving me $508 back (so I am only giving them the 1st month's payment).

Monthly payment: $492 with no security deposit and no money down other than 1st months payment.

I am very happy with this deal. Thoughts?

Way to go wannabe. Not bad at all on such a hot vehicle.

Sounds like a good deal, residual back where it should be.

Only problem I can see is keeping it below 12k miles/yr, I just love driving mine too much.

Drove over to my mom's house the other day....and she lives across the street.

Enjoy!

Looks like a good deal with no down. Are they basing the residual value on MSRP or actual price paid?

the nice thing about leasing with GMS discount is that there is no security deposit required. Or at least there's not at any of the dealerships I've been to so far.

I leased instead of buying because I'm sure there will be a more powerful engine coming out and if that happens resale of these first year H3's will poor. (just my opinion of course) </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

What dealer did you use? I may be interested in going for a drive. I just got back from a dealership by me and this is what I was quoted in order to get a $300/month lease payment. Vehicle is approx. $33k after the GMS discount....in order for me to get a $300/mo. payment I'd need to put down approx. $10k. And the lease would have 24 months/12k miles. No security deposit required. This would be a lease financed through GMAC with 8.75% with residual of 74%.

H3wannabe, I doubt it, if your not an employee or have some way to get a discount, the leases are around $550.00 per month.

Hi OneWorld-

Did you see my last post above? I ended up with $492 per mo with nothing down on a lux auto. But I am using a Supplier Discount to get there.

Btw, I hope no one takes this as bragging (it's not that good of a price! ). I posted this info so others can hopefully negotiate for something as good or better. The lease prices I have been hearing have seemed high and this price seems fair.

Sweet deal. As soon as I sell my wifes Jag, we are getting one.

I was hoping to stay under $525 a month, but my wife wants a fully loaded one. LUX with the adventure package.

Gotta make the wife happy

anyone have any ideas as to why lease prices vary so much from dealer to dealer? I personally would just rather buy outright but if I can get a great deal on a lease then I'll go with that instead.

i figure it is just the dealership trying to make some extra cash. A-HOLES

If I could find a dealer that will give it to me for the same price as wannabe got, i would go ahead and get it.

If you put money down on a lease and plan on not keeping it your just giving it to the dealer. If you want a lower payment buy it and put the money down (better rates) We were very happy to take money down on a lease, veeerryy happy

Residuals are based on MSRP, not price paid. As usetosellhummer said, if you're doing a lease and planning on turning it in, it's best not to put anything down. You'll have a higher monthly payment, but you won't be sacrificing all of that down payment.

usetosellhummer:

Why is there so much of a difference in price. I was quoted $647 for 3 years, but they got $490 for 3 years. That is over 5K more I am having to pay for the same vehicle.

One difference may be that I am using a Supplier Discount. This saved me $2700 off of MSRP. Another reason may be options. I only ordered lux, auto, and hitch. Nothing else.
