First of all, being TOO far back is subjective. At first, I felt they were too far back, but now after almost 20K miles, I have no problem with their location.
As for switching; it would require a complete new door panel and possible an extension for the existing wiring harness to reach the new switches.

True, the 4.3L only made 190 HP, but it was a monster with 260 ft-lbs of torque. It was a great mill for the Blazer and S10 ZR2 trucks.

Yeah...now when the 07 H3 arrives..gotta figure out how to wedge in that 502.. .....Talk about climbing Lion's Back.. 567 Ft LBS of Torque...
