You should check on the availability of housing, i heard there is a Lottery system in Phoenix and only the winner's of the lottery can purchase a house, you just dont make an offer to whatever is for sale.

It's never hit 115 in Dallas.

Hummer Tech
thanks for the input
1) is a compelling draw to this area, and from the little i have seen, I am tempted to bet on this. Tempe area is rather pricy now.
2) tough to compete with, but probably has to do with #1, #6, #7
3) I grew up around Lake Michigan, I understand humidity. Dallas is more humid than Pheonix, but hopefully tolerable
4) this is a big negative in my book, I am a hard core Packer fan
5) good for resale values. I don't have kids
6) this is a big swing factor for me. I could buy a lot of toys for the H2\
7, 8) are certianly a big bonus. not overly happy with W now, but he is still my man.

I don't take offense to it but I have to agree. I have heard nothing but great things about the Dallas dealers and nothing but bad things about the Arizona dealers. McKinney is a great place to buy a house. My buddy bought there and I was shocked what you could get for the money.

Dallas and Phoenix both have these advantages:

- Lower crime rate in both cities
- Very little snow
- Both states allow Concealed Carry!
- Both states love truck loving, rough and ready SUV's.
- Both states support weapons up to .50BMG without any questions
- Both areas have active Hummer clubs

Advantages for Dallas:
- Diverse
- In the top 10 cities in the United States based on population (#8 in the 2000 Census)
- Higher mean average income (33k per resident vs. 29k per resident in Phoenix)
- Lower average daily temp in the summertime (85 in Dallas vs 95 in Phoenix)
- Larger overall labor force
- Lower median home price (135k vs. 190k in Phoenix)

Advantages for Phoenix:
- Diverse
- # 6 in Population
- Better wheeling
- Arizona's CCW allows concealed carry for anything. Texas' CCW specifically states pistol only.
- If you want snow - drive north 2 hours. If you don't want snow, stay home!
- Lower overall humidity
- Smaller and denser metroplex from a land standpoint- less driving!
- Close to Lake Havasu and some killer spring breaks!
-Very good Hummer dealers

Both cities won't be bad choices.

-Steve

I just bought a house in Scottsdale, near PHX, about 9 months agi. If I wanted to buy the same house now, I could not afford it. The market here is CRAZY>>> If you see a home for $485,000 (2100 square feet 3 bed, pool, 3 car) you better bid $500K or or more, because you won't get it.

We offered 10K more on one house, and did not get it... My point is, the market here is blowing up. Good this is your house will increase in value for sure no matter where you move in this area.

Hey, the market is booming here in Orlando. If you want to buy a big mansion down here, I will be nice enough to watch over it for you

Phoenix...but outside of town!

The traffic sucks in both places, but the drivers are a bit more forgiving in Phoenix. Just my opinion from travels to both cities.
