Moved mounting brackets to mount laying on the side, they fit perfect!
I noticed that this compressor that I have is a Master Flow MF-1050. My first one was a Super Flow MV-50 (exactly the same).
I'm getting all of the parts gathered for the installation, I will prabably do it next week.
I'll keep you posted!

I would imagine that the VW compressor is used more for filling up the little one's inflatables.
I can't see a VW doing Hell's Revenge in Moab!

I went to 4x4parts.com didnt see it listed.Good right up on the above link.

Does the whole setup fit in compartmrnt or just the compressor.
I already have a coil hose stowed in jack compartment you can fit a lot in there I have a recovery strap w/shackles,first aid kit, jack board ,air hose, Tire repair kit, extra presure guage w/hose,foldable shovel/pic and a few other things packed in there. No rattles(tip couple spare rags in there handy and no ratles.

prefer my powertank, but than again I'm no player hater.

Seem's that these guy's prices are comparable to everyone else's prices out there!

It's the SuperFlow. I read the reviews on the links that I posted up top and decided to go with it. Problem was, it was hard to find. I guess all the smart people that went before us got one. Finally, after a convoluted way, I found an old link to 4x4parts.com and ordered it (if you go to their site, you won't find it ). I can't recommended it yet since I only used it once i.e. don't know about longevity compared to the $300-$400 QuickAir and such, yet. But if you want one, I'd call rather than try to find it on the website.

That's the one. It might have been less @ 4x4parts.com.

Hey ETD... would be entrested to know where you mounted yours. I'd like to mount it on the tailgate but no sure the hinges could handle the weight... also since I'm not planning on selling my 3 ever I'm toying with the idea of mounting it to the ceiling. Lemme know what you did and your thoughts.

Sounds good.
Do you think the vibration of the compressor might be two much for the airbox lid.
Would you run a switch (w/relay)to inside since you are locating hose outside of engine compartment.
Also are you going to use the superflow compressor.

Hmmm, EDT said "Summer= Rear Lockers" is on his schedule.

What about filling an air tank to drive an air horn and tools?

What about just having a little too much time on your hands to mod your vehicle and save storage room inside?

Couldn't you split the hose to feed both the front and the back?

That's the one!
Identicle to the MV-5O. Not sure why they changed the model #.
I'm sure that you will be very satisfied w/ this compressor!
I'm hoping to get the install w/ pics done around feb. 23-28. a buddy of mine borrowed my digital camera while on vacation in mexico, he will be back on feb. 22
SOON, VERY SOON!

Well, I saw a "candidate" spot the other day. What about under the air filter box? I figured when I mess with putting the K&N or Airaid or whatever, I'll be down there. I'd be interested in what you think of that spot.

Any spot is good if it fits.If it works there list some pics.

Just a little advice!
when you go to your local hose supplier, make sure that they take the hose coupling on the coil air hose, cut it off and re-install it on the length of air hose you purchase.
Then have them install a new female coupling to the coil air hose and, a male to the other end of the new length of hose you are purchasing.
This is the way I had them do it at Evco, here in Salt Lake, because they did not carry the same type of coupling's that are on the Master Flow air compressor and coil air hose.
(If your local hose supplier does carry these particular type of fittings then you can ignore what I just wrote!)

Ok. My tentative time line is Feb=SuperSwamper SSR, April= Intake&Outflow, Summer= Rear Lockers. Depending on whatever will be coming down the pipeline for the H3, of course (from the sales figures quoted on this forum and elsewhere, I'm thinking alot of companies will hop on board the H3 bandwagon ).

Here's a link to another air compressor available. I figure, if it last for a good year of wheeling, I'm ahead of the game. Why put good money into something that is going to get full pf mud, and soaked beyond belief. I'm sure the hoses and fittings will outlast the compressor

Ric-H0

That one looks good too.I like the chrome shinny it would look good under the hood . Im not doing any chrome on the outside except the grill .Harbor freight is great I use them all the time.I already bought the masterflow.

Also installed is cool </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

yeah yeah... i know... just got lazy! I'll monitor the thread to see the pics when they are up!

I was actually looking at Viair compressors. they have both flavors. Portable and once you mount on the vehicle. Obvously the ones you hard mount need a seperate tank to hold the air. But if you can find a place to mount the portable one that would work great!
