skeeter,
Do you have the link for the one with the self stick tape? I looked at his other items and he just has the non-stick ones. After further inspection from the previous links, the letters look a bit different. Interesting.
I want them, but want the adhesive on the back.

Mine are holding on fine. After being through heat in the Summer and now Winter, to include the elements of salt spray from the back of other tires and high pressure "Touch less" car washes, I have no problems. I am not using 3M double sided tape. I used a industrial clear epoxy that comes in a dual needle like applicator and must be mixed and cured for about 10 minutes before applying. The drying time is 12 to 14 hours in moderate temperature. This stuff is no joke. Check my thread on the "Photos of your H3", under Lil red H3. I have seen other people use double sided tape and you can see the thickness of the white tape sticking out of the side of the letters and I think it looks "cheap" The clear epoxy leaves no obvious signs of "home made modification" when done right and done with patience.

I brought my H3 to a dealer early this week to have a few accessories put on. One of which were the HUMMER letters. Before I left, I noticed they were loose. I asked the guy and he said that's normal. Well, I went on my way and started polishing up the grille when I got home. It took all of 5 minutes before the R fell off. I decided to do this myself. I went to 4 auto stores and Home Depot and no one carries 3M Auto tape. I bought the knock off and I also picked up Loctite Epoxy Gel for Metal/Plastic from Home Depot. After using the auto tape, I realized that it wasn't going to work. You can see the tape if looking down on it. So, I opted for the Epoxy. I had to remove each letter, remove the crap glue they used and cleaned with Windex. I then mixed the Epoxy and went one letter at a time. I couldn't be happier with the job. It just goes to show that sometimes you'll do a better job than the dealer -- not to mention, I'm the opposite of handy. So, for me to do it, anyone can do it.
The letters are on there rock solid and I have no fear of them coming off. (although I purchased an extra set for piece of mind).
Thanks to all in this thread for the advice.

I used double sided 3m tape, you can see the tape
but I am going to use black sharpie to cover them up.I did use a black paint pen to color the letters they stand out better on chrome grill.I was going to use epoxy, but thought what would happen if I had to take letters of for some reason.

for all that have the letters on there grill, how tough is it to remove the bug guts off the grill and not knock off the "hummer" letters?
