I onced asked WTF a "pad" was and was just occused of a very clever pad. I think I have come to understand it's posting small meaningless stuff in order to drive up your post numbers. Would that be accurate?
What I DON'T understand is why someone would want a higher number of posts. Is there some benefit to it? Do they send free prizes? No?

Me too - ON MY SUPER-DUPER, VERY COOL CUSTOM BRUSH GUARD!!!! Actually, some very talented metal guys were working on it. I was watching. It'll be done tomorrow, then off to the powder coater and on my rig well in time for the run!!!

surgeory scars shouldn't count either. them aint real scars. I just about cut my foot off with a skill saw once. I may be a competitor in the scar game.
