So, they are released...finally. Great information. Haven't even bugged the dealer, been waiting for the bulletin and not in a big hurry. Leaving tomorrow AM for Utah, so I'll wait till I get back. Guess I'll have him give me my new jack too.

I see the bulletin was issued today....So, I'll post it here so other's can take it to the dealer.

Do you know if we will get a notice in the mail like the jack and rear wiper pump.?

My dealer said it would take 4 hours

Im going to bring it in for the rails and jack at the same time also

And I take a loaner for the day and leave it

Question Re: F5Fstop new roof rails

Is this a bulletin that all dealers get or can get access to? When I took the last one in (re: cloudiness under the clear coat due to Weather Guard), he told me they couldn't pull it up and it wasn't a GM/Hummer bulletin. Yesterday I complained to the 'dealer survery person' who had called me about my last visit to the dealer (last week .. but still waiting on parts) .. point by point .. about my last experience at the dealer. Of course, the Service Manager called me today asking how things were when he got the results to the phone survey. He got an earful. Waiting on the hood boxes (air vents), section under the windshield wiper .. and now they have to repaint the entire hood.
Sorry .. back to my question .. can the dealer actually get access to the bulletin listed? Or, was he just trying to make me feel that I didn't have an authentic bulletin? Thanks!

This is a Hummer/GM bulletn, it is in the eSI system the dealers have access to. They can search on the bulletin number (06-08-67-008).
NO, you will not be notified by mail, this is a bulletin, not a recall or campaign.

If one side is cracked will they only replace the cracked one or will they replace both of them. I'd hate to have to bring it in again when the other one goes.

They should replace both sides. No questions asked.. They should know the old ones are defective and its just a matter of time before the breakage.

Just an update.............

Had my roof rails replaced (don't know if they used the new ones or old ones, told me they were new) and they fit like crap !!! Where they meet the windshield side molding (A-pillar) there is a big gap between the two. There are two tabs on the roof rail that are supposed to slide into two slots on the windshield molding and they aren't even close. I can pull the windshield molding off to the side because the tabs aren't holding them in place.
Dealer initially told me everything was installed correctly. When I refused to take it out of the service shop like it was, he said he would try to fix it. Dealer told me the roof rails are installed properly and the only thing he could do is try to replace the windshield side molding to see if they fit better.

Question: I thought I remember seeing something that said there will be replacement windshield side moldings as well. Any word on that ??

I'll get pics up once I get it back, Grrrrrrrrrrr !!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is old stock floating around, but it sounds like
they were installed incorrectly. We have not seen the new design
and as of this morning only 3 dealers in Ca 1 in delaware and 1 in Pa
have the new stock.

FJD, I think you're referring to a question I had posted about my A pillar moldings. I have some spots on them, like splash up that left a few white, milky circles on both sides. F5fstop told me to wait until the bulletin for the roof railings came out, then try to get them all replaced at the same time.

Yeah, I'm not too sure I got new stock. Awfully hard to tell the difference just by looking at them. Well, if they crack again I'll now I didn't get the new ones !!

I thought I remember F5Fstop talking about possible A-pillar replacements, if they come out I'll go back and have them done too. Wish they could've all been done at the same time.

I'm supposed to pick it up today, hopefully everything fits better this time...............

Question Re: F5Fstop new roof rails

Can you actually SEE the cracks in the roof rails by just looking? Where are the cracks .. right where the roof railing meets the A pillar molding?

The crack in my rail was right where the two pieces overlap right near the windshield. I had to get up on the step and look straight down to see it. If I hadn't heard about it here, I probably wouldn't have noticed it for a while.

THANKS MIKE B! I stepped up and saw the crack in my roof rail. Annnnd, to make things worse, my rear right rotor is back to making that problem sound again. AGH! Left a voice mail message for the dealer service manager.

FJD ... did you get your H3 back with refitted/replaced roof rails? How did they come out the second time around?
