Hi there.

I am an old H2 owner (had an '03 and an '05) that is now considering stepping up to the full-on H1 Alpha. Having read the topics of this board, I guess I am a little concerned about mechanical issues with the newer H1's.

Is this a mechanically reliable truck? Am I going to have maintenance issues with it? FYI, I mostly intend to use it as a foul weather vehicle/daily driver. I am going to eat up a lot of highway miles, but I also intend to take it off-road from time to time, nothing hardcore (yet!).

Thanks in advance.

If you are really serious about an H1 I wouldn't worry. The H1 was designed to be used in the military for over 10 years.

Any H1 will require "regular maintenance". Up till the Alpha, every year H1 has essentially been the same. Remember that it really isn't a real production vehicle, most years they build less than 2000 units (97-99 were higher). I've had a '95, '99 and now have an '03. Each year has more creature comforts and techno gadgets (TT4, lockers, electronic tranny, etc.)
