Thanks guys, I thought it might be the traction control, I'm used to my other 4-wheelers I've had where you push 4Hi a punch it and spin the tires all the way up the hill, next time I'll try TC2 and down shift if needed. To make you proud my Hummer was the only truck out of 6 that made it up the mud hill, as I was going up it I heard a few of the other truck owners yelling I have a $55,000 piece of sh%$, guess I had the last laugh since they couldn't make it. I watched them drive away with their tails between their legs. HeHe, (Hummer 1, others 0)

I thought you could only lock the rear in low range?

Yeah !!!

It doesn't help that there's a lock on the 4hi and 4lo buttons and that the manual doesn't explain the difference between transfer case and diff locks.

But then again who reads manuals?
