 How dare you girl! I was only here Saturday though. Had to go to Sacramento on Sunday. Thank goodness for my pilot's license, 2.5 hours up and 2.5 back.

A question, that looks to be a 3-sided box - are there heat issues?
Seems like wenches build up a lot of heat when you are running them hard, so you want to have an wide open box design to facilitate better wenching without heat buildup.
Also, I remember over on the NAXJA forums that using a synthetic line on a winch designed for cable could cause heat dissipation issues. I don't know if that's true, but I'd love to hear what the temps are like with a synthetic line, installed in the bumper, pulling an H3 out of the mud.

Most synthetic line that is designed to be used with electric winches will have at least one to two wraps with a special heat shielded coating or some such added to it.

Thanks! I'm not all that familiar w/winches (wenches, yes). What's the benefit of synthetic line over cable other than weight? |
