how does the aftermarket stereo head unit attach. does it slide through the Dash mount Kit ( Metra 99-3304 ) and then bolts to the truck or does unit attach to the truck's mounting bracket and then the kit is just to fill in the gaps.

thanks

The radio and bracket are all one unit. The radio slides in and attaches to truck with 4 screws. The brushed aluminum panel in front of radio needs to come off to remove or install factory radio.

I can also confirm this. I used one of these kits to install an after market head unit. The head unit installs into the 99-3304 and then head unit 99-3304 assembly attaches to the Hummer. I should also say that it fits like a glove, no mods are required.

I don't think I'd be able to use the Metra 99-3304 since 'm planning to do 2 DIN size units. Still searching for a kit that'll work
