newbie here,

planning on replacing my stock HU with Pioneer DVH-5000MP & DEQ-7600 Double Din configuration, but haven't had the luck of finding the right wiring harness for the H3, always says none available. Now I tried searching under chevrolet colorado & GMC Canyon and the Metra Model VT-GMRC-01 came out for both. now my question is since H3 is based on 'em, if 'm not mistaken do u guys think they share the same wiring harness as well ? BTW for the guys that have done this themselves, attached is the pic..also don't care much for OnStar coz 'm not sure if I'd be able to use it over here in Germany, so hardwiring advices are more than welcome.

thanks

I would let pros do the install. These radios have alot to do with everyday operation of your vehicle.I found out the hard way.The old days before onstar it was nice just call crutchfield and get dash kit and wire harness and you were all set.Onstar presents some issues when disconnected so be carefull.

I used the PAC-AUDIO OS-2 and wiring instructions that BB provided links to. I also used the PAC-AUDIO CM1 module for the door chimes. Both chimes and ONSTAR works perfectly.

Crisco's
right thats what you need to intergrate to the wiring harness. Plug and play. I don't think anyone that I know of has a Double DIN mout out there yet. The Metra is a a single DIN with a Storgae pocket underneth it.

Hey Crisco, I cant thank you enough for posting these pictures.I already threw one radio in the trash after being frustrated. The purple wires threw me off the first time.I didnt know they needed to be connected. My Alpine will be here tomorrow, hoping dash kit shows up to.I have the XM Roady, but reception sometimes sucks going threw FM modulator.Thats why I went for the 9820xm with built in XM tuner just need to add antenna.I am also adding RCA jacks for my Ipod. What I did was drill into the plastic cover for extra switches. Then placed small adapter in there and can plug my Ipod into it.

Thanks h3'er.

First Hummer, I'm glad the pics were helpful.

Let me know how you like your Alpine. The Pioneer I used was a three year old I pulled from my trade. I would like to get a new one but haven't taken the time to research what's available.

If you're able, post some pics of your install, I would love to see what a nice Alpine looks like in the H3.
