I am buying an Orange 06 H2 LE and

I am lifting it with a 6" Fabtec and putting 38's or 40's on it. (Have not decided on the wheels but they will be mainly black) Anyway, I want to keep the LE wheels and put them on my Z71 Suburban. (6 lug) how hard is it to change the hub out or is there an adapter available? I am also trying to see how to get those 315's on it w/o a big lift. Any ideas or opinions on how to accomplish it? Also any Ideas on tire size or rims/ rim size? What about offset/back spacing? Thanks,

all i know is your gonna have to re-gear and probably supercharge that sucker. also with 38s or 40s i would say a 20" rim would be good and still leave tons of meat

Hub spacers and adapters are never a good idea. They cause vibration from imbalances, they can fracture, and they put added stress on the tire threads and those are ones that meet SEMA standards, the others are worse. As for 40" they are GREAT offroad and in the mud, and they are loud, rough and a pain on the street. You will definitely want to lift it, if you go 40s, and that means regearing and over 100 threads to look through in the tech sectiion for resolving problems, such as the stearing toe in and drive shaft set ups. Big tires look cool, but if you don't drive offroad a lot or show your machine at shows, they are not easy to live with if you drive it a lot. IF you don't regear or supercharge, you're going to loose a lot of performance.

Great points. Thanks, I am going to either get it and lift it, (10 grand with wheels tires and all) or I can buy one lifted for about 1 or 2 k more than regular market value of the truck and add the S/C. What is the life of a S/C? Any regular mantainance? I don't mind the noise. It i will split driving duty with my Suburban and P/U. As far as the Suburban wheels, so complete hub change outs are necessary?

the sc should be good to go for 60K without maint., the transmision is another story with SC'ing a truck along with adding larger tires...esp 38's or 40's.

i don;t think you can put those 8 lug wheels on your 6 lug Z. you can put an adapter/ billet spacer on there, but the hub isn;t going to work. To fit you'll need a 4" lift and 2" body lift to fit well on teh older body style. If you have an 07 or newer the wheelwells are smaller and will require a 6" lift to fit well/ plus you will have to go with Superlift or Rancho to use the stock backspace...but than again the stock back space of the H2 vs either body style Z71, its different.

Well, Tranny problems? (And not the kind Eddie Murphy had) Is having a lifted one even worth it? F Me. So lifting it or buying a lifted one is just asking for it? The Suburb is not getting the tires and wheels. (maybe the tires.)

I made an offer on this one (he has not gotten back to me) and planned to S/C it but now I am a little worried about the problems the lift and big tires may cause. I see lifted rigs everywhere and thought regearing it would solve drive train issues. I thought that would take some stress off the tranny and rear end. I guess I am wrong. What type of mainainence is there on a Super Charger?

Timgco, have you had those problems with yours? Do you do any rock crawling or offroading? Mine will be in the woods some. Not a lot but it will pull my 4 wheelers to the woods and such. It will get some scratches. That said, I want to buy one with out them and then I will know where they came from. I don't want someone's rag.

Just like I thought. I just can't decide if I should let my brother add some spacers on this problem.
