i guess they are replacing all jacks with Hi-lift jacks!

Got mine as well, I was hoping the recall letter was about the roof rails.

Won't recall roof rails. The new jack is stronger and will last longer under repeated usage. The old one is strong enough, but I guess some long term testing showed a slight flaw over time.

Took mine in today, and they replaced the jack with the other service I had performed. Told me there was an issue with the threaded rod that lifts the jack potentially stripping with repeated use.

Got my letter, too. It would be nice if the dealer didn't act like it was the first time they had heard about a recall/replacement .. like with the rear wiper .. "Oh, it's supposed to be replaced? Ok, we'll replace it". Can't wait to hear how this one is treated. I have no doubt they'll do it, it's just I wish they'd be upfront and say, "We're replacing it for you because of a problem." Yeah, right? In a perfect world ......

A new jack sounds good to me. My old one isn't jacked up yet. Some jackass prolly jacked his up which is why the recall. I look forward to jacking up my hummer and trying it out.

Not all vehicles are involved in any specific type of recall. If you are involved, and your address at time of purchase is the same, you will get a notice. In addition, mine came yesterday, so the PO will deliver at different times to different people.
