Almost everyone I've talked to about Hummers have a fascination with them. They always say "That's what I want someday!" Even if they admit they cannot afford it now due to gas or what have you.

I think I know why, especially for men. It is a type of vehicle that stirs your imagination. Be it the H1, H2, or even H3. I get giddy when I see a Hummer. It is like the first time you see a jet fighter in person or even a passenger jet. The child in you gives way, and you are at once in a new world of larger-then life vehicles and ideas!

For me, just another mid life crisis that I've been having since age 21.

I feel different when driving it, in control, high seating, great ride, it feels like it can go anywhere, makes you think so to > be careful

fun to drive slow > I do not know any other vehicle that is fun to drive slow. and fun to drive fast to. And it looks like a large toy, but very independent in its style. I can stare at all the time when it is parked and not get bored

The H2 was a recovery goal set in a moment of anger.

Got screwed in a bad deal. Literally had to declare bankruptcy.

Vowed I would rebuild the company bigger, debt free, and pay cold hard cash for H2 in 12 months.

Did it in 15 months... Blew deadline but nobody died and companies are thriving.

Everytime I sit in it I am reminded that I can do anything I set my mind to.

Except Voodoo. You need 37" tires to do Voodoo.

That is an interesting point. A Hummer does give you that screw em' attitude and makes you carve your own destiny!

Nothing metaphysical. The SUV segment had morphed into grocery-getters with heated seats and AWD. Since I sold my bulletproof '96 Montero, I've been unable to find a new SUV in the original 80s mold; offroad capable, moderately comfortable, cargo capacity for trip, and a rational price (I think you gotta be nuts to take a $50K+ LR3 or Touareg into the boonies.). GM nailed it with the H3 and gave it the unique Hummer look too.

I have to agree with Crashtest's comment

"A Hummer does give you that screw em' attitude and makes you carve your own destiny!"

I reminds me that I don't care what people think of my personal choices

I reminds me that goal setting is an effective life skill, I can afford anything I want to own with a little planning

Plus, I think the car matches my personality, capable, practical and sassy!
