Unhappy Re: Box Canyon, AZ

Box Canyon is a very easy trail in itself, but in that same general area there are alot of more difficult trail (Martinez Mine, Coak Ovens, Woodpecker.) I am not sure what you are looking for but Box Canyon is a very scenic and a little tight in places. Once you hit the trailhead from the Florence side(south) it will only take maybe 30 minutes to complete. As I said there is literally hundreds of trails in this area and can be very easy to get lost in so take a buddy and or GPS and gude book.
I have personally spent many days back in this area and still have not seen all of the trails.

Have fun wheeling and be careful it is all pretty pristine desert.

The last time I did the lake pleasant to crown king trail (3 years ago) with my friend Barry Burkhart (died 6 months ago ,was a great guy sad to see him go ) ther were big bolders a little way in and it was rough on the paint and body of my ford. is it still that way now or can I get the H2 through without f*cking it up ? i have gone to crown king by the I-17 crown king bumble bee exit but that is kind of boreing .

Went up it last August narrow in spots a good spotter is necessary the only problem I had was getting stuck behind a stock ford explorer that instead of taking the trail around that last bend before you start getting up into the ponderosa pines, I guess the kid wasn't a fan of the edge of shelf roads and took the route over an old washed out cattle guard and got high centered on ituntil some jeeps pulled his dumb azz off. My parents live in New River Az so that trail is nice and close.
