I have 2008 H2, with about 26K miles. Have had a few other problems, but not this one.

Put the key in it and rock the steering wheel and make sure it's locked.

I had an H2 do this to me before. I got it towed to the dealer and they said a set screw or something came loose down in the linkage. Sounded like a pretty easy fix that I could have done myself. Take the shifter and cup holder area out and look around.

Go to Flashoffroad.com and there you will find common problems with H2's and how to solve them. They have pictures to show you how to fix the problem of how to get it out of park. Sound like common problem with H2's I just haven't had my turn with it yet.
