Okay guy/gals I really dont understand these tire sizes.....

I have a 2003 Hummer H2 that I picked up today...(Finally been waiting 3 weeks now for delivery and 3 years Ive wanted one...lol) anyways back to topic Im considering the following wheels and tires...

KMC Backseat Chrome 22X10

Toyo Open Country M/T 37x13.50R22

I know the wheels will fit but will the tires fit?...is 37 too much?...Also will these come out of the fenders cause if yes I rather go with 20"....

But if I go 20" can I fit

37x13.50R20
or
35x12.50R20

I want the big wheel 20 or 22 but i want the MT tires....please help

When I had my 20" Lexani's I had Les Schwab Tire throw on a set of 37/13.50-20 Toyo Open Country MT's. The rub was annoying enough for me to get 35/12.50-20 Nitto's. No rubbing at all.

I've read in this site that 37/12.50 tires will fit with little to no rubbing, depending on the tire. The biggest factor at that point will be the off set and backspacing of the wheel you choose. For example, my Lexani's were flush with the fenders while my Kaotic NT-2's stuck out almost two inches.

Also, if you go with 37's you'll end up having to get a programmer to address the slight loss in torque and speedometer issue. I've read several posts and asked many questions and this is the general concensus.

35/12.50-20 is the correct diamter for your truck. Also, please note that if you go with anything above 18 inches you'll feel the extra upsprung weight when you apply the brakes. That's why on our second Hummer we bought 35/12.50-18 tires and 18" wheels. But if you insist on 20" wheels, go with

35/12.50-20 or 325/60-20 tires. Both are correct for the H2. I highly recommend Toyo Open Country M/T's for their aggressive and quiet ride. Nitto Terra Grapplers are great as well.

Here's a pic of my old 18" combination with Toyo 35/12.50-18 tires. A Hummer needs meaty tires! Don't do the rubber bands!

37's on 22's

a little rub at full lock but nothing to cause any damage or annoy me that much-however my last three truck were 2 superdutys with 8" lift and 38's and a silverado with 35's and they all had minor tire rub too so you could say i'm probably used to it by now

Unless you are going to be doing some SERIOUS wheeling which would require you to air down substantially i think you would be best off with a 20in. With a 20in youd still have a big rim look with plenty of sidewall to protect your rim. One thing to conseder also would be a 35x13.50-20 tire. This tire would be 1" wider and IMO it gives a better stance than a 12.50. This is just my opinion and you know what they say about opinions. BTW, can you guess what im running on mine?

Shrek, from what i know even though the Toyos dont come in a 13.50 i would think it would be a better tire for wheeling(and it looks awesome too). There are two reasons why my tires are wide...obvisously because the 13.50 is wider than what you are used to seeing in a 35in(12.50) but second is because im running a 10wide rim. I may be wrong but i think a wider rim will give your tire a wider look. You can buy 20's with a 8.5in or 9in wide rim, but it doesnt give the same look as a 10 or 11in wide rim IMO. MKW makes a rim very similar(m19) to mine but instead of being a 20x10 it is a 20x11. I think the Toyos would look sweet on either rim just dont go with a rim less than 10in wide. Mickey Thompson also carries tires in a 35x13.50-20.
