Was waiting at the red light today and two national guardsmen pulled up next to me in a Humvee and they were just smiling and checking out the H2! They were so nice...waving and all as they drove off in their convoy of other vehicles. We see them out every now and then but finally saw them while in the H2.

Also noticed lots of our military are driving in to the MCLB where they train for desert operations. All military personnel have been told to report in December and throughout January...it's cool seeing all the military vehicles such as the Humvees being transported around town as they do manuevers in various areas where we live.

It's neat driving a "part" of the military pride!!! I know I bleed RED, WHITE, & BLUE!!!

As the son of a career Navy man I too am proud of our Armed Forces. I spent a couple of years growing up on a Navy installation in Albany, Georgia while my father flew in Vietnam. From what I recall of Albany, I'd be concerned that the gnat population would carry an H2 away....

You know it's funny but we moved from North Georgia and we notice them more when we go home way up in the mountaines. We actually have less mosquitoes in Albany than in the mountains??? Go figure? I think right below Macon is where they are the worst!!!

We live right on the Flint River and the only thing that will carry you away that I have noticed are those May Flies and Love Bugs. Now those are terrible when they are mating.

I'm not an entomologist so I can't tell you what they actually are.

What year were you down here? It's changed quite a bit from what I have heard in the last 6-7 years.

Indeed, its been a long time, 1970

That mating love bug statement is interesting - messy from the "theres just too darn many of the things...?"
