ive always been a bass head. ive noticed some talk about a factory subwoofer. im looking into a 2006 h2. but i noticed they only list 8 speakers. that would lead me to believe there isnt a subwoofer. i guess what im asking is, has anyone added subwoofers to the factory stereo? do you have any pictures to inspire me? thanks, and great forum. glad i found it.

I did a little searching years ago and found nothing that really was worth a crap. Boss stereos and speakers work on different ohms - therefore you can't just drop in a sub and amp. I hear they make a converter but they suck.

One thing I always meant to do and never did was talk to boss themselves. I bet they have something.

it should work, as the amp is what dettermines the ohms for the subs. i would just have to get the thing you use to tap into the rear speakers for a signal.i have a mtx thunder form under the back seat of my dodge. same kind of idea, and sounds decent.

It is actually the speakers that determine the Ohms that need to be run but most quality amps can run with different impedance levels. It's not the best scenario but you could connect a line level converter to your back speaker leads, go from there to the amp. If the amp does not have a low pass filter or cross over you would want to add one between the converter and the amp.

yes, to get really good sound the speakers need to go, but that means the head unit goes too (unless you went back with better boss).

you CAN add a sub to the stock stereo using the ohm converter - but it's my understanding it's not the best quality. It would probably sound okay though.

You can using a line level converter and yes the sound quality isn't going to be the best. This is a sub amp though so quality isn't going to be as big of an issue as if you were using it for the front speakers.
