Guys, I want to add a Gobi or Manik full rack to my white 2003 H2. I really like the look and think it will add convenience.

The prob is the wife DOES NOT like the look. She kind of thinks they look ugly and can't see any function. I tell her for camping we can just throw the luggage and misc **** up there and strap it down, but we live in Vancouver where it rains a lot so she says that is not feasible.

For those with the racks, what did your significant other say? How did you finally convince them this rack is the right way to go?

Thanks

You're kidding right?

When I bought the SUT I handed my wife a pic of one and said "Look what I just bought".

Say goodbye to parking in the garage.
I have to use it. When my kids fight, up they go, and I don't have to hear it anymore.

The wife really didn't go in the garage back then, so she didn't even notice the for days. "Just somethin' for the truck, babe". Then, BAM, it was the truck.

We're kidding here, right? Let's see. On one hand, we have the very best H2 accessory on the planet. And on the other hand we have a giant chrome jungle gym. Yeah, it's a tough call.

When GOBI and Manik first released their products at SEMA (2003) I went into the Manik booth and I guess I insulted the owner somehow. He proceeded to tell me how he had been making racks and ladders for motor homes since before I was born, and I said "Yup. That's exactly what it looks like. A rack for a phucking motor home."

Enough said.

Promise your wife you won't put one on her car.

It's YOUR rig, right?

Sorry your wife doesn't like the rack. Mine thought it looked really cool and dug it!
