When you can't see it is when you should really be worried. It's probably hiding in your bed, shoe or clothes, maybe even your food.

I love wolf spiders. Next time you smash a big one take a gander at the 5000 little baby spiders you just unleashed upon your home. Spray them don't smash them, especially if they look swollen.

To me, looks like a Dolomedes scriptus, most common name - fishing spider, or it could be a albineus.

The problem is you were looking down on the ground for it and
it was above you, probably raced in the house while you were
staring down looking for it.

It's Friday the 13th and

So I get home tonight after I took the wife's parents out on a couple of forest service roads, we stop for korean and when we get home and I get to the top of the stairs inside - what is waiting for me, but a big ugly spider.....

Had to go get a shoe and whop at it, the damn thing took off running about 20 miles an hour and me whopping at it on the stairway - it made it down about five steps before the final whop got it.......

Was it going up the stairs or down when you went after it? It may have been running home to its 5000 babies.() You should have followed it, THEN whopped it! Hope you don't get those creepy crawly feelings while you sleep tonight! ( )

It was just waiting on the first vertical section, just below the upper level floor and the first step down.

Lurking there, waiting for me... Just sat there until I started whopping at it....
