Last couple tanks have been 14.5 mpg (very good considering I've been too lazy to take my camping gear off the roof rack). Tanks before that were around 15-16 mpg. Not bad if you ask me.
I imagine once I black out the whole vehicle, I'll end up with a couple more mpg. One other gas-saving technique is to black out the whole vehicle. By having full dark colors (instead of chrome), the vehicle absorbs more heat. A hotter-running vehicle actually get better gas mileage because the fuel temperatures are higher, resulting in more combustion, which means more better gas mileage. All those blingers don't realize that studies show chrome causes worst gas mileage

Chrome increases freeway/high speed gas mileage due to improved aerodynamics (slick), right....

Re: What can be done to better the MPG for the H3?
We get roughly the same "stated" gas mileage as a Durango or Trailblazer,
but we look much more cooler

Re: What can be done to better the MPG for the H3?
I was thinking about this today. At the bar. Drinking.
Here's another idea to help imrpove the gsa milaege.
First, reroute your heating/AC ducts outside the cab. Then, run them to the air intake for the airbox.
When driving, turn the AC on high. It will act as a superduper cold air intake. Also, since you are using the fan from the HVAC, it will act as a RAM AIR INTAKE. This is like a cheap supercharger. The extra power from the super cold ram air intake will boost HP, reducing the amount of effort required to move the truck. As long as you are careful on the throttle, this extra power will result in more gas mileage (less power required to move as fast). Isn't math fun????

Re: What can be done to better the MPG for the H3?
wow... didn't realize an innocent question would turn into 'eff u dumb ass' thread. I know hummers aren't known for their gas mileage... i was just wondering if there were any mods (being minor such as an intake etc...) that would somewhat improve the mpg on the h3 ...
talk about jack-asses here... sorry that i'm not a know it all like the rest of you ...
then "keep your stupid questions to yourself then..." it seemed like a legitamate question to me...

I agree...it was a reasonable question. I know I am new here, but I have been around other discussion boards for a long, long time. In fact, I moderate a cell phone users discussion board.
I may get flamed also, but to reiterate, I think it was a reasonable question/posting.

don't be so sensitive
Do you know what the search feature is for? It takes almost no time to search this forum, using basic search criteria. Realistically, I'm looking for ways to improve my gas mileage too (any bit helps), but I'm more likely to SEARCH then ask a dumbass question on a HUMMER forum about how to improve my gas mileage as my first post. What were you expecting, get a prius (and stop using your DRLs, they are ruining the environment!)...
