alright so i am here on the gmbuypower page, checking out the msrp for the lux edition of the h3. don't mind me, i'm new to the car buying thing, so catch me if i'm out of line here. just wanted to ask, has anyone gotten the car for around that MSRP price? $32,060 it says on the site. i know i usually see these cars run for about 35-38 lux edition sticker priced. but has anyone gotten someone to budge for near invoice price (invoice would be less than that msrp price wouldn't it?) or atleast around that msrp price.. all i see around are adventure packages or EVEN BASE packages for that matter at 32,060. let me know 'cause i'm planning on getting an h3 lux, but i'm looking for straight standard for the lux edition without any extra accessories attached for that 32-33 range.

I would say it depends on your area and the dealers in your area. In my area, northern Detroit suburbs, dealers appear to order for stock three ways. Base, adventure and luxury and the luxury models have many options.
You can always order a H3 from a dealer, a luxury model with exactly what you want installed.
From what I have been told, they are dealing a little bit in this area, but the only way to get near the invoice price is via GM supplier/GMID/or GM employee pricing (GM employees or eligible sponsored Dependants only).

The main reason you see them most of the lux's in the $37K range, as you point out, is that they have a lot of other options. My guess is that you would have to place an order for a no-optioned lux to keep the cost down.
But yes, there are plenty of places to purchase at MSRP and a few at below MSRP (if you have access to a GMID/SVPP discount).
I plan on doing the same and placing an order for a lux with auto and trailer package. With my SVPP discount it is approx. $31,919.00. According to the Hummer site, with $1500 down, the smart buy option would be $479.72 mo.

Wannabe is correct that you are seeing Lux prices of $35K plus because they are not base Lux models, they have options such as off road suspension, sunroof, chrome package and so on. I know at my dealership, all the original H3s they ordered were fully loaded. As far as getting it for MSRP, you should have no problem doing this. From what I have been seeing here, nobody is buying from those dealers that are (or were) charging over MSRP. If you go to the dealer and they are charging more, go somewhere else. Never pay over MSRP. Good luck finding what you want.

I agree, when getting mine, there were very few that were not loaded with just about everything. So, I got things I would not have ordered but now two weeks later, I am so glad it had the chrome wheels, which I would not have originally ordered.

With a limited production vehicle, that is allocated to the dealers like a Corvette, over MSRP is easy to get when a new model is first introduced.
However, as hot as the H3 is, there is a darn good supply out there in the field, so if one dealer wants over MSRP, go to the next one and chances you will get MSRP.
In this area, there are five Hummer dealers and one has a supply of over 60, another has about 50, the other three have individual supplies of between 20-30 (information from their own websites). Problem with these dealers in this area, out of all those H3s available, one three are Lux with off-road packages and those are red. (Nothing against red, but I want yellow.)
Looks like I'll have to order and drive the Jeep a few more weeks.

Just to let you know, it doesn't seem H3's are moving as fast as they do over by Shreveport and around that part of the country. It is because they haven't been here as long as they did back over at Shreveport/Central America. Dealer's maybe be trying to get customers happy and to buy one. Although they have been popping up lately.

Chris,
I had to shop around. In northern CA I finally got mine in San Rafael, Although the Delaer in Pleasanton said they would take GMID as well. he was a nice guy to talk to very reponsive. But didn't have the exact vehicile I was looking for. Dealer in Concord never got back to me. My local dealer in Sacramento, I will never deal with. To much game playing when I asked if they would accept GMID.
Park Royal in San Rafael Treated me right, if you are shopping talk to Peter in sales.
or in Pleasanton ask for Bill In internet sales
