I would go with the DRTY bumper. The multi-mount is a novel idea but it just not practical if you use your truck much compared to a hidden bumper style. Personally, I have the Warn winch/bumper combo because I couldn't wait any longer for DRTY to come out with his. There is no question that, if I had to do it again, I would go with the Warn or Drty bumper system again.

Why all of the hostility here? No need for it, really.

PhilD, I use my vehicles for hunting in very wooded areas that are mud holes the entire stretch of forest. It's not wise to spend your entire hunting trip using your winch to keep pulling your self deeper into more trouble. After all, I went there to hunt and not 4-wheel the whole time. It was not an assumption, just my personal experience. Sorry if it differs from your own use of your vehicles. These very wooded areas do not allow for vehicles with raised suspension, or you will have trouble making it through the wooded trails with lots of trees close by and over the top of you.

PJ, you could easily just put the winch in the back of a SUT or inside the SUV, if it causes you that much grief. Besides, from the way I understand it the perm-mount bumpers make angles worse than stock.

PJ, the weight of the 9500 Warn cradle & winch came off of my 1/2 ton pickup. I added the stuff to mount the winch on the front and tires started wearing on the inside and not even. I can tell the difference in stiffness with a 9000+ warn on the front end. Drive around with the winch on the front and you too will notice the tire wear.

tomp, you should have just left well enough alone.

So, did you just give up on the hunts because you couldn't get to the spot you wanted to get to. That's the whole purpose of having a winch, to keep you going where your 4wd stops.

Do you even own an H2? First it's simply impractical to leave the winch inside the truck until you need it. There are times that you will not be able to get the winch in the receiver once you are stuck in an obstacle and then what good is that winch.

Where did you hear that the bumpers decrease approach angle? I have the Warn and several have the Drty and none of us complained about losing any approach.

Lastly, how many H2s are you aware of that had to have an alignment done after adding the winch bumpers? I for one, did not. I know at least 10 others that never mentioned it if they did.

Your opinion is fine around here, but when you start trying to throw your opinion around as if it is fact, especially when it is quite baseless, expect people to respond. If you don't like for others to contradict your opinion, then don't give your opinion. Very Simple.

Okay, dammit, now I'm a little confused. I thought the "DRTY bumper" was a nickname here for the Warn bumper, but maybe not? Is the DRTY bumper a precedent of the Warn bumper that DRTY made himself or what?

Q tells me not to worry with a winch. M is arranging for a constant fly-over when I am wheeling with a large elecromagnet-equipped chopper to lift me out of any trouble I might get into.

I have an M12000 I will sell. If you are interested, I have had it about 6 months and never used it. When I got it was pretty rough, so I stripped it, had it all powder coated and replaced all the gaskets and seals. I also put a new solenoid pack on it with new remote, etc. Works fine, needs a cable. $1000 shipped, if you want to pick it up, I will work something out with the buyer.

Drtyfn makes the bumper, it is NOT a warn bumper.

Hey Paragon! That's not fair! I only hit it on one obstacle and that was it! (ok, maybe 3) but not very often!

Heyyy.... that was not my intention there. I was just going through the moab thread to get links to pictures of each winch. Rox, I don't remember it grinding much there on the crack. The picture makes it look like the fairlead is digging into the rock much worse than it really was.

The synthetic cable is great... It's certainly on my list of things that will happen next time I get bored... and have some spare time.

I already have some minor kinks in the wire cable I've got now.
