Very nice! Can a roller fairlead be used or does it stick out to far?

I made this mount for my Front Licnse plate to snap on a roller fairlead:

Front View, Base piece is 22ga Steel, Mag light clips installed with SS 10-32x1/2" Button Heads, Marson 1/4-20 Threaedserts installed for the plate

Back side showing the clips, SS 10-32 Nylocks

Side view Installed

Keep in mind, my setup is much higher up than the hidden system Drty's Company designed. But the concept could be easily modified for a Hawse setup. I have seen a very cool one that hinges as well

Cranky,
That's pretty close to what we'll end up using.

Not sure yet. We're trying to work out a deal with MileMarker for the winches and GM for the bumpers.
I'll post on the price soon.

Sorry guys. I'll get some pricing for you as soon as we get some details nailed down with MileMarker. The winch we're using needs a slight modification for us to use. A slight rotation of the casing & a slightly different clutch handle. We also need to discuss whether or not we will be able to sell to the public while we're waiting for AMGeneral to make a decision. I'm might be able to do it just for the forum members.
On a side note, we've also got another bumper that we're working on. I'll post pics after it's been to the powdercoater and installed for pics.

Next up: rockbar extensions and roof rack.

Dedo, I had them done. They were done with a BK-05. The next set is getting shot with a BK-08 because it's a more durable coating and it's more of a matte finish. 05 is great, too, but more of a semi-gloss finish.

DRTY I am hoping my rims will be done today, the guy said he would work on them through the weekend so hopefully they will be finished.

I had to pick my own shade of black cause that BK number didn't help him at all. He said he would need the universal AR number for the paint color cause he didn't know what brand of paint your guy used to get that number. I think I picked a more flat finish but hell if I remember. I will post pics and the AR number today if I get them.

Frank,
Hmmm....? BK is just the color denotation before the finish number. Pretty universal.
Did he go through all of the PC's with you and explain durability and finishes?
Can't wait to see another convert.

I just got home with the rims, I wanted to put them on today but I am very tired and didn't feel like waiting for them to get done. Also the truck is extremely dirty so I would like to wash it a bit first, maybe tomorrow weather permitting. Anywho, here are 2 pics..

Frank,
The rims look great. Let us know how they hold up. Also there was a debate a while back concerning beadblasting and if it was necessary prior to powder coating. Did you have them beadblasted? Also how long did the job take and what did it cost?

I forget what he used to blast the rims but yes he did blast them to knock the finish off the rims to get down to the paint. Then he stripped the paint off the rims, cleaned them up and did the deed. According to him he wouldn't suggest not blasting the rims, you can do it other ways but you need to at least have the finish taken off for the powder coat to adhere to.

Total cost for me getting the rims and having them done is $525.00. $425.00 of that being the powder coating. I am sure I paid a little more than most people but I live in the middle of nowhere and finding someone to do this work was like trying to schedule an appointment to meet the president. I am very satisfied and could care less if I paid $100 or whatever more than others. I dropped the rims off Thursday evening and he had them ready to go today when I got there so it didn't take long.

**** they look good Frank!

DRTY,

Did you guys get a design patent or something?
GM would be stupid not to go for that ideal. But you might do way better selling direct as an aftermarket.

Frank,
Can I ask where you got a set of rims for $100? Thanks. I might do the same with my pewter 2003.

I got them on Ebay. I may have gotten lucky since most of the sets that are even $100 have a hefty shipping cost. I saw a set the other day for $80 plus $35 to ship which is a damn good deal as well. Just search for H2 wheels.

Those look great!!! Now for your center caps...
If you have access to a small bead blaster then lightly blast the caps. Clean them thoroughly and rattle-can them with a primer designed specifically for plastic. Amazingly, the primer that was recommended was white??? It works great though. If you can, bring your wheel into the store and ask for the closest possible match. Home Depot is a really great place to find the spray paint.

I'm not so sure I want my center caps on. Since I am a die-hard cult follower of you DRTY I feel the only way to truly become one with the master is to leave mine off as you have done .

I never much liked the cheap ass plastic caps anyway.
