oh the flux capacitor harness.... yeah they were gonna put those in but then after revisiting the price point they were aiming for they were all pulled, and the harnesses left in place.

Not sure but if they were left in for something that was not implemented. Must be good for something else! No drilling required...

That is the way the factory left it. Mine is new and was left that way. My wires were taped a lot better though.

Those are accessory wires. They put those through the firewall already for you incase you wanted to add lights, etc. to the outside of the vehicle. One of the best ideas they could have ever done to help us "do-it-yourself" people!

yes I bought it new but Ive just now gotten around to makeing some improvements. I leveled it and added 35" toyo oc MT's, custom rubber floor mats and things like that. But I just bought a pair of piaa 520 ATP driving lights for the brush guard (my first pair ever) and after pondering the best way through the firewall I noticed the ones under the hood. Then I checked under the dash and found some more. they were taped better than that but I wanted to seperate them a little better for the pics.

So are these wires just wires that pass straight through and dead end on both sides? That would make wiring the switch about a millions times easier. Does anyone know for sure or know any way to test the wires to see if it the end under the hood is the same wire as the one under the dash???? I sure hope so, I was really not looking forward to drilling a hole in the firewall of my 3. And I am no electrical genious.

Also these lights have been sitting around for a while now, (no time to work on the things lately) and I seem to have lost the instructions. Theres two black leads and one white lead in the harness. Im assuming white is hot and connects at POS terminal, and the black one closest to it connects at NEG terminal. Now the other black lead Im not positive on. Im guessin you just ground it out? or do you also connect to NEG terminal? Any help would be great since piaa doesnt seem to have online instructions...and like I mentioned before, first timer here.

Question Re: What are these for

ok I tested the wires with some help from my irrigation installer at work and they do indeed pass through the firewall and dead end. Atleast the red wire and the black wire with the white stripe do. They are the only ones I tested.

so now I still have the question above about the where to hook everything up. Im pretty sure you just have one to the pos terminal, one to the neg terminal, and one to the a ground point. but now I have a couple more. The OEM switch is a couple weeks out and so Ill just use the piaa switch for now. It has a third wire coming from it that I assume is to power the little light on the switch. First is the OEM switch the same? and secondly, wheres the best place to tap into for this wire???

Id like it to only be hot if the key is on. That might cut down on walking off with two bright ass lights burning draning my battery.
