Was wondering what(if any) aftermarket roof racks have been added to the H3? anyone have pics of a yakima or thule set up on their H3? what towers did you use? thanks for any info.

I don't have the factory roof rails and would rather use the aftermarket towers and flat bars from yak or thule if they make towers to fit in the roof channel. anyone know for sure? thanks again.

I really did use the "find" button, but there wasn't any discussion about how aftermarket towers fit to the roof channel. anyone? pics, brands, anyone?

I have a Garvin rack that I love to death. You may want to consider it, or something else like it.

hey thanks. i've been to that site, but never got past the gobi rack price . So what's it like gettin things in and out of it? i put a nice crease in the door of a truck i had trying to get a kayak off by myself . there's just no easy way to load and unload stuff from your roof. got any pics of yours loaded up? also looking for a place to put my high lift jack. this looks like the way to go. thanks man.

I bought their mounting bracket for my hi-lift. You can mount it on either the side of the rack or in the bed. And its keeps the jack in there really tight, I’ve never gotten a rattle from it. It's a nice solution.

Plus there are plenty of places to tie down just about anything you can think of (jerry cans, luggage, whatever). Getting things up and down isn’t too bad. I’ve got u-steps on the side, so it’s fairly easy to access the sides (I think without steps or a nerf bar you’ll need a step ladder or something). But with the high rear bummer you can get to the back of the rack without much effort.

I have a Yakima. It attaches using the factory crossbows and included clamps.

BradO,
sweet ride. I just picked up a Thule rack. they make a kit that fits in the track on the roof. I'm happy with it(except for the wind noise), and i'm looking into different baskets now too. I'd like a long basket(most have extensions), but i've got a sunroof so i'll have to figure that into the total length. thanks all for posting and for the help. i'll get some pics of it up soon.

medicjeff, thanks for the pic. I was real hesatant to get a fairing for fear of being called a "yuppie" , but it doesn't look all that bad, you yuppie medic . kiddin. most of the driving i do is 60-80mph and the noise is loudest at 70, so regardless of what it looks like, i'll be gettin the fairing.
Side topic about the rack set up. Did you crack any of the plastic on the foot kit when you were tightening with the allen wrench? i did . it was a scortching 17deg. when i was putting it on last night so that might have had something to do with the break. anyway, i'm confident it will hold and looks to be just cosmetic. if it loosens, i'll take it back. Hey, what's the little square thing on your header right above the windshield on the driver side?

Looks to me to be a XM or GPS antenna. Just a guess though.

I really like the setup that Espad has with the Garvin and the lights. I'm planning on doing this as well. You can get a "Wind Deflector" for the Garvin if necessary.

Thanks for posting
