Default Electric Fan anyone?

I always wanted to do this back when i had a Jeep but just never really got around to it. Has anyone done this yet? i would imagine it would free up a little bit of power and definitely increase throttle response....
Flex-a-lite makes an elec. fan for the Colorado I think, or at least one that fits. I did some measuring and it should fit no prob. thoughts/opinions?

can be done, but to be honest it won't save you much. The mechanical fan does not draw that much HP when in operation (clutch engaged), and the weight is minimal. Just be careful when going through deep water.

Just be forewarned...if you ever have an overheating problem with the engine, the dealer can point at the fan and say, that is the problem. Moss Magnuson allows you to install, but if the dealer can give any type of reasonable response that the fan could have caused the overheating, and GM field office backs that statement, it can cause warranty problems.
Just a warning....

Even though I'm "power hungry" I would probably pass on the e-fans. I don't know how much HP you net from the reduced parasitics, the increase in MPG, or how much faster you engine will initially heat up??? The coolant system removes about 30 ish percent of engines heat. The constant flow of the stock fan keeps a nice breeze on the engine and air moving in the engine compartment. The e-fans may help the A/C at slow speeds if you can turn them on when the A/C high side is developing pressure. Some colorado/canyon owners have installed the wrong size and things got pretty warm. I'd try to get perhaps 3300 cfm along with a mini fan shroud and the fan should fit the core as much as possible. Maybe check some I5 colorado/canyon forums to see what they have done.
