Here are some photos of the group that I went with. There are also a couple of the rolled Jeep on Truck Hill. Everyone was OK.
Poor Ranger had to hike his gear up there.

That front articulation on the H3 looks pretty darn good for a stock 4x4, plus the front IFS keeps the wheels nicely perpendicular. I can't figure out how the Jeep rolled...looks like a very tame fire road. Is there a steep bank on the side that he tried to go over?

What we deducted - his tires are so large and the sand is so thick with a hard surface underneath, that he probably hesitated and started bouncing.

Boing boing splat. They had the jeep tied to a group of bushes too keep it from sliding further.....imagine :-)

That hill is steeper and looser than it looks in the pics. I've heard of several trucks rolling there, mostly shorter wheelbase.

So it sounds like he was running up the trail too fast, bounced hard, lost it, and went end-over. Now it makes sense.
