It Is possible. I am going to do it as well. Look in the glove compartment. You will see a sticker with allot o 3 digits or letters. Look for Y91. if you have like I do, you will need a Bose Y91 adapter. You can find them on e bay for 115$ to 135$ us. And even better, if you want to keep the steering wheel radio controls you will also need (aftermarket radio must have remote control) PAC steering wheel adapter 50$. It will wire to the steering wheel and turn it into a remote. You will have to program functions like a universal remote control. I have not done any of this yet. But I was informed this will be needed to have a clean install.

Good Luck!

I don't think you'll have any luck. the 2008 radios are built for the GMT900 platform with high speed LAN communications, the '03-'07 trucks are on the GMT800 platform with the class-2 communications. The electrical systems of the two trucks are 99% incompatible. Youll end up spending much less time and money using an '07 radio.

@ planohummer:

thanx for that.
but what is with this idea............i will kick the bose amp......... new wires for spaeker and new amp. impossible ?

you will ask me " for What??" i tell you:
a few months ago i cut out the middle plastic for the new radio size.
after the bad nwes from the GM daeler abaut the LAN thing i was thinking abaut a new middle plastic, they told me i have to pay 475 ? ( ca. 600$ )
now i want to rescue the plastic.
i have to decide between a new chance for a free radio install company or a new plastic an the old 03 radio.
what do you think?

thanx for help

at this point, go aftermarket(pioneer, eclips, etc). you'll be able to get adaptors to make the wiring and physical fit work.
