I prefer to burn my oil in the form of gasoline.. And racking up those fun miles. Not waste time at the dealer draining and refilling oil when it's not necessary.

And look how long the typical new car buyer actually keeps his vehicle. When he sells or trades it in 3 or 4 years, he never gets a penny extra for all the extra oil changes that were done twice as often as necessary.

The few people that keep a new vehicle long enough to drive it into the ground are very rare. And they are the only ones that have any hope of seeing any benefits of all the wasteful oil changes.

But oil company's do want more business for sure.
