Default Automatic starter

Hi guys-
I have an 03 H2 and went to get an automatic starter yesterday.I know (from having it installed on my other trucks)that it should only cost around $150.I was told that for the Hummer there is an extra assembly(piece)that has to be bought,This extra piece would boost the price to almost $300!My question is does anyone know anything about this assembly and if so is there a way around it-it just seems like a lot for a simlpe starter and I dont wanna get took!
Thanx

From what I was told there is no way around it unless you want to lose one of your keys, but even then youll still have to buy a module to make that work. Ive just purchased a remote starter and had to buy the module to make it work it cost me 100 plus 50 to have it installed.

its the serial data bus connector to talk directly to the computer so you dont have to half ass is w/ a key taped under your dash.

I had my viper pulled from my old car installed for $175 inluding that adapter.

You can do neat **** w/ it like when its below freezing out, the remote start will auto turn on your heated seats. Roll all windows up/down, etc..
