I am upgrading my stereo system. I was wondering how much power the factory Bose speakers could handle. Since they are Bose, I am not sure if it is worth it to replace them.

I got the W6 stealth box, but I want to install the complete system all at the same time.

I kept the stock speakers in they are pretty good. To replace the compenent speakers it would be pretty expensive.

I don't remember the total output for my new JL amp I got but the RMS is 25 per channel.

To me that doesn't seem like a lot but have had no problems and it sounds great.

Hope that helps.

The bose spks are ok at best and designed to be very efficient, but not to handle too much power. If you give them 50-100 watts, they will sound decent, much more than that and they will start to crap out.

I got the 12" W6.

Do you think the stock speakers can handle 100 watts RMS?

The fact that they are Blowse is a perfect reason to replace them.

Anybody have the wiring diagram of the stock speakers to the amp and specs (and dimensions) of the bose amp for the 2005/2006?

Thanks!

I am definately new to the audio game. A friend of mine recommended the W6. I was thinking Bose was as nice as thier home speakers. Oh well, I guess I am going to have to change them out.

Can you let me know what sizes are in the front, middle and rear?

No Highs, No Lows...must be BOSE.

But seriuosly, the home bose systems are way better than what they put in the cars. I have the Alpine Type-X for my mids and highs and they sound way better than the stock bose. I replaced all the speakers from front to rear.

Dragon is changing my complete system with JL Audio component system. Replacing Bose Amp up front and a 2 amp rack with 12" flipdown monitor in between hanging from the roof just behind the middle seat and in front of the 3rd row so they can watch the screen. 12" subs in a custom built sub enclosure where factory rear wheel wells go with 2 subs in each side. Middle roow I forgot is not bench anymore, 2 H2 captains going in middle row. Will have full bench in 3rd row to seat 2 when i want it in. Dragon is as sharp as they come in audio and video. Recommend You PM Him if You have quetions. he can be of help. He went to one of the best a/v schools in the country after college just because He wanted to learn more. They tried to hire Him to stay and teach. If He has to He is not afraid to tell you let Him research. Not to proud at all, just wants to not give false info.
