My mirror will show the numeral 9 instead of the numeral 4 when the temperature is in the 40's. So today I saw it go from 39 -> 90 -> 91 on my drive to work, and from 51 -> 50 -> 99 -> 98 on my drive home.

Anyone else have this problem? I guess I need a software upgrade for the thing?

You may try to reset your mirror to your area, I reset mine and it seems to work better. I did get mine down to 30 one night, it then gave me a ice warning for the road. But at that time I wad driving around at the Grand Cayon, and it was very cold that night.

It seems to be accurate. This morning was 29, and it is now 64 out. It was accurate the whole way, but while in the 40's it showed 90's. It just can't make a 4 right. I bet everyone's got this same problem, unless newer Hummers ship with new software.

I have had the exact same problem on my truck. The dealer took a look at it at the first service and recalibrated it. Worked for a few days and now I think it is having the same problem again.

Not only does it show 90's for 40's, but get this:

When it's under 32, and you turn the Hummer on, the display will alternate between showing the current oustide temperature and the word ICE... Except the thing insists on lighting an extra segment again, so we get IEE !! How could this have escaped testing?! Didn't they do any cold weather testing?

I too have a somewhat similar problem on my wife's H3. The other day we were driving down the Interstate and the outside temp was between 35 - 40 degrees. The display was reading the correct temperature but everyone once and a while "ICE" would display. I looked in the owners manual and found nothing so I contacted the dealership and they had no idea what I was talking about. We live in Louisiana and the temperature rarely dips below 35 so is this a common problem with the Hummer line? And why does the "ICE" indication display?

This not only on Hummers. I was surprised the first time I saw it on one of the Ford SUVs that I have had. The "ICE" will flash occasionally to warn you that conditions may be right for ice on the road, especially bridges. On all the vehicles that I have had that do this, it only does it for the first few minutes after starting. It might do it as soon as the temps drop within its set range though. At least that is what I was told.

It doesn't always have to be below freezing to have ice or snow on the ground.... That's why it flashes ice when it gets cold enough that there could be a possibility of problems....

Thanks for the info Big Z and dochummer, I'm still not sure if it's a bad mirror as we never see the cold temperatures that everyone seems to be reporting in Big Z's link (Louisiana, Never really gets below 35) so I haven't seen the big temperature fluctuations. It just happened once and the outside temperature was around 35 degrees. I will however keep an eye on it and if it continues I will get the dealer to replace. Thanks
