Default stupid question - what type of factory alarm does the H2 have for window smashing

Had my 03 H2 for almost 5 years now. Knock on wood that I have not had any breakins or anything - living in Vancouver BC that is pritty rare. Anyway my dad has a 06 H3 and over the weekend some druggies smashed the drivers window and stole his portable gps and cell. He noticed it the next day but did not hear anything when it likely happened.

So my question is, what is the factory alarm on the H2. If some **** smashes my window will an alarm go off? I recall a little from the manual, and believe the manual only goes off once the bums actually open the door but not when the glass is smashed. If this ios true, I guess the bums just need the break the glass and quickly crawl in through the opening.

Anyone know if the H3 factory alarm is the same as the H2? I'm thinking of a great xmas gift idea for my dad (an after market alarm).

Thanks

The H2 & H3 factory alarms are pretty similar in that they only go off it the door is unlocked by hand after being locked by the remote.

I know there was a factory upgrade for the H2 that was a vibration sensor, but I can't remember if it had glass break detection or not.

Not aware of one for the H3, other than aftermarket systems.

Aftermarket CompuSTAR - love mine, especially w/ the remote start for the winter two way remote control that works up to 3000 ft (9000 in some newer models).

The New Version of the Viperer (I had the Old One..SST5900 on the H3) has internal radar that senses motion inside the car and will trip the alarm. I also had the optional sensor that would trip the alarm if you jacked any tire off the ground more then 1/8'' as well as a hood sensor.

After a break in the alarm transmitts a singal to your key fob receiver up to a mile away showing where the break in has occured in relation to the part of the rig ....door...hood.....etc.

Check this unit Out....

Best if yo use a Autherized factory installer.
