yeah...the democrats will fix everything like back social security for illegals working here, stuff like that.

to me the political landscape has just become one big mess.
republican or democrat, either party is more interested in garnering votes however they can get them, self serving, absorbed in their power.

you have bushie taking us to wars under the premise of wmd's and terrorist plots....4 years later its still untrue. no wmd's and no terrorist groups. but we ruined the most advanced middle eastern country seemingly over bushies personal vendetta.
now we are finding that maybe saddam did a pretty good job of keeping the peace in that country as we have managed to bring them to the brink of civil war.
and dont forget abt iran. iraq used to watchdog iran, but now they cant. whats gonna happen there?
how much has this "war" cost us in dollars? trillions and trillions. whats the price of lives to both sides?
now were stuck there. bushie thought we would be in and out but hes "staying the course."
has anyone figured out what that "course" is?

the dems will fix it though....president h clinton and obama will take those trillions were spending on a useless "war" and feed, clothe, doctor, and finance illegals. why? because they will be voting soon enough.
and theyll get al gore in to save the planet.
and gay rights will come to the forefront. how wonderful.
governments feel they have to regulate and control every facet of life....thats so they can then turn around and tax u!

face it folks.....our political system is for sale to big business and special interest groups who can foot the bill to ensure whatever party's continued grasp of power.
i find it disgusting.

From James Lileks:
Democrats ran on a two plank platform: not mentioning the taxes they would raise, and promising to lose the war faster than Bush.

FWIW, Allen did the people of Virginia and the country an honorable favor by conceding to Webb.

Yeah, Saddam kept the peace through intimidation and genocide. What we were thinking removing him from power?

And the civil war is Saddam loyalists and terrorists trying to keep the rest of the country from moving on w/o Saddam.

Yeah, can't wait for high and mighty Democrats. The one next in line to become chair of the ways and means committee wants to give tax cuts to latin americans and doesn't discriminate at all.

Pickering wants NY congressman to apologize for comment about Mississippi
By By Emily Wagster Pettus
The Associated Press

JACKSON, Miss. ? A Democratic congressman from New York says he wasn?t trying to insult Mississippi in published remarks today, but a Republican colleague from Mississippi says Rep. Charles Rangel should apologize to the state.

Rangel, D-N.Y., was quoted in an article today in The New York Times, saying: ?Mississippi gets more than their fair share back in federal money, but who the hell wants to live in Mississippi??

Rep. Chip Pickering, R-Miss., issued a news release criticizing Rangel?s words.

?I hope his remarks are not the kind of insults, slander, and defamation that Mississippians will come to expect from the Democrat leadership in Washington, D.C.,? Pickering said.

Elbert Garcia, Rangel?s press secretary in New York, said Rangel had received calls Thursday about the Mississippi quote.

Garcia e-mailed The Associated Press a response from Rangel: ?I certainly don?t mean to offend anyone, I just love New York so much that I can?t understand why everyone wouldn?t want to live here.?

Rangel is the ranking Democrat on Ways and Means, and is in line to become chairman of the powerful tax-writing committee. The New York Times article was about how the New York congressional delegation gained political clout in the midterm elections.

Rangel said, among other things, that he wants to direct more federal money to his state.

U.S. Rep. Gene Taylor, D-Miss., said he believes Mississippi will be treated fairly by Rangel and other Democratic leaders. As for Pickering?s question of whether Democrats could hurt the state, Taylor said: ?That?s Chip.?

Pickering was elected to the House in 1996 and for the first time will be a member of the minority party in Congress.

x2 ... that's why I like a good red and blue balance in government. They either work it out and find consensus or fight so much they can't pass as much crap into law. When either dems or reps dominate the government for too long, bad things happen.
