Default 2007 Scratched Dash

My H3 dash was scratched by my Audio guy while adding Sirius through the factory radio. Of course, I did not realize it until a day later when the light hit it. The scratches are minor knicks, but it covers about 4 inches in the top center of the dash. When the light catches it, it looks a lot worse than it is. Anyone dealt with this before? I tried molding the scratches with the bottom of a spoon with no luck. As a back up, I am powdercoating a H3 emblem (less the 3) and having HUMMER engraved in the center. I will then mount on dash as a custom piece (if it looks good).

Carefully heat the area, then use something that will mimic the texture to press the scratches down.

If you heat the plastic too much it will be shinier than the rest, and then you will say
