Default Mud Grapplers vs SS M16's

Has anyone conducted a comparison test between the SuperSwamper SS M16 vs. the Nitto Mug Grapplers 20's or 22's on their H2? Which tire has less road noise?

Nitto Mug Grapplers are loud as hell, but at least the deer's will run from you (they sound like a single engine air plane). I had them in both 35's and 37's on a 20" rim. Oddly the 37's are less noisy than the 35's, no idea why. The Toyo M/T's that I run now are pricey but as quiet as a street tire.

Yes...I've heard this about the MG's. I've had a few vehicles with MGs pass me on the highway and it sounds like a C130 flying over. The SS M16s are said to be quite, but very aggressive looking with all season benefits.

I think Pharump (member here) has them on his pick-up

Bullets!!!

They look excellent mounted:

Any feed back from actual SS m16 user would be very much appreciated. thx

Man I love that set up. I actually wanted to purchase the same size wheels/tires but I couldn't find out if it was lifted or not. If some guys on this forum can fit the kuhmo 37x12.5R22 kuhmos on stock then I'm not sure why those wouldn't fit in a 37 on a 24 inch wheel...

I had that same set up with a Truxxx 2.5-3/F and 1.25 R and it rubbed like a whore. Basically the problem is a 24" rim is 12" wide vs. most 22" rims are 9.5-10" wide. Now you could crank the torsions and cut out the splash shields where it rubs but even still it would be tight.

Nittos will wear out faster than you can replace the cost for them. I chose the Toyo M/T in 37's. As soon as they wear out I am planning on the Super Swampers in a 40" size. I havent heard anything bad about those M16's and they look sick as hell!!

I love the look of my grapplers but they are super loud, I'm use to it now. When these wear out I'm going with KM2's next.

I'm with Bimmer on this one. The TOYO's are incredible. Very little highway noise, good wear, and balance great. I spoke with an employee at 4Wheel Parts Wholesalers who had TOYO's on his F-250. He said that they weren't even balanced and he had no vibration or wobble.

I would also love to get 40's, but everyone I've spoken to with lots of experience says that 38's are the max you wanna go on these, or similar GMC/Chevy's. They've stated that 40's will start wearing and breaking components very quickly. Now, if I'm able to pick up a third car.....

Sorry to sway off topic.

Charles

I have the M-16's on my lifted H2 and love them. They really go good with my truck. They are not too loud but, not too bad. They are mean looking for sure. Here is a pic of it on my Hummer
