Default 2006 Limited Edition Side Step Question

The Limited Edition comes with integrated side steps. They look nice but the placement of the step is too far forward so if you're in a tight spot and can only wedge your way out of the door, the placement of the step is too far forward.

That said, I was wondering if anyone here has installed the standards H2. nerf bars or even electric retracting side steps in lieu of or in conjunction with the standard limited edition bars. I'd rather not spend the money to experiment.

P.S. - I did do a search and after two hours of reading posts I gave up. Also, please only respond if you have first hand familiarity of the topic. Thanks.

I put LE steps on my NON-LE H2. I like them, but I remember thinking there were some different mounting locations when installing them. Get under the truck and take a look, you might be able move them back to a more desirable location.

I replace the LE steps on My H2 cause they are a little uncomfortable , also I like the nerf bars looks better

Im the exact opposite.... while the nerf bars offer more convenience due to the mounting location I think they look like an "add on" and greatly reduce clearance. I added LE steps on my 2008. I had the nerf bars on my 2006. I love the clean look of the LE steps.
