I am sick of the accepted wisdom of many car reviewers about the H3.
The H3 is not slow. It accelerates very well, if driven correctly; specifically, don't floor it.
Accelerate steadily and it has very good pickup. Floor it and it will just make weird noises.
It is geared to be a true rock-climber, meaning it will steadily and powerfully climb up and over things that faux SUV's won't. The trade-off is that it is not a GTO, Corvette, etc.
The H3 can't be both a stoplight tire-burner and a true off-road rock-climber. Neither can a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. However, the H3 is a great combination of off-road prowess and highway cruiser.

Well said! I will be trading my corvette in for the H3, and could care less about the loss of "power". You can't use it all anyway with all the speed traps out there. I am buying mine for the capability to drive off road in construction sites where my corvette would never go...unless I want to constantly be calling towing services! I found it quite capable accelerating on the interstate and passing other cars on two-lane roads.

You should try the power take off from 4 low. It makes your head snap back.
I agree with your comment that once you get a feel for the accelerator pedal the acceleration is more than adequate for day to day driving.

When I made my comment about 4 low I was talking about my experiences off road. Sorry for the confusion.

I have over 86 points on my liscense, a lot of fast cars, but my liscense is valid, so I think the slow down with my H3 is going to be just fine. I have to go till I am 90 years old with out getting any points > in order to not lose my liscense for any new tickets. REALY NOT JOKING >

I agree..Picked up my H3 last Sat and couldn't be happier withit it. NO...it won't win any drag races, but that's not what it is built for.
