Default JVC dvd head unit

hey guys Ive been looking and only found 2 post about this dvd install. Basically Ive got the onstar harness and all the harness required but do I need to tap into the parking brake and transmission wire sensors? or can i by pass that ? And I was told I dont need a Radio Kit to put the dvd in they said it would slide right in and hold its self ? is this all true ? thanks in advance

ok i did more reading so does the DVD unit fit without a dash kit ????

The H3 dash opening for the unit is a double din type.

SO why are people using the dask kit for the pioneer Av-1 ? is it not a true double din dvd unit ? ?

it is double din. the kit is for prperly attaching the unit to the dash, and also has a trim plate in front to fit the console opening better.
