It\'s a Dry Heat is off the scale
Default Real Hood vent.

Was looking for a kit to replace fake hook vent with real one. Yes I did a search here and on net. Sometime down the road I'd like to Fab a bracket for oil cooler. Mounting it just under the vent, like the H1. I would like it out from in front of the radiator. Need all the cooling I can get here in Arizona. I did find some more fake ones for up to $700. Was looking for real one for half that amount.

Your gonna have all the heat from the engine radiating up into your oil cooler when the truck isnt moving.... I would imagine that would be a hell of a lot hotter than leaving it in front of the truck. Also, with the way these trucks are shape areodynamically, I cant imagine a lot of air making it to that area of the hood... just my 2 cents. Let me know if it works out for ya !

Default Re: Real Hood vent.

The top hood vent that is non-working from factory can be made functional with some metal cutting of hood once the vent is removed so you can see where to cut. You would also have to open up some plastic in vent.

My vent hole is cut out completely and converted to full time reverse cowl hood scoop to remove heat but, if sealed off connected to intake of throttle body it would then suck really cool air for performance. Do not get me wrong removing heat and getting cool air else where works near as well. Search pics and should be able to find my Show Queen. Do not let the looks fool you I work harder thinking of performance and leave the custom look to Buddy Dragon.
