Default Rocky Road Outfitter Rails ON!

It took the better part of half a day, I guess, but there was no blood shed, nor bones broken! I had no real problems with the installation. In fact, everything lined up quite well. It took only a little gentle persuasion from the poor man's "Porta Power" a scissors jack to finish the driver's side. The more difficult of the two sides. The best thing about the included instructions was the sentence admonishing you to "Stand back and visualize what you are doing." Yes, the installation requires 10mm bolts, and the company still, for some reason, still sends 12mm bolts!

And, yes, DRTYFN, I did it myself! The girlie picture shamed me into it!

Hell, I was on such a roll, I even installed the brushguard on the wiff's H2!

I do need to take pix of those things! Not only are they heavy, it was DAMN cold when I did them. I'll take some pictures in the ayem. Also, I may be imagining this, but the rig feels more solid now. I guess with fifty pounds of bridge shaped hitch steel bolted to each frame rail, it could happen?

Okay, what the heck! I have nothing better to do than go outside in the dark and cold to take some pictures.

No, I didn't take them off road. The mud is from the road to the rifle range and the parking lots around my fishing holes. Not yet

Anyway, here they is in all their glory! Two Rocky Road Outfitter Rails attached to one green and dirty H3.

Okay, last reply to my own thread.

I forgot to thank Yat74 and SR1355 for their ideas and encouragement in installing these. I appreciate their assistance. They gave me an idea of what to expect.

The fit was acceptable. Apparently they have improved it over the earlier models. Sorry guys. and, all of the bolts went in.

My squatty body wiff hasn't tried to use them, yet, but I can hear the whining now. They are higher than the chrome doo-dads in the chrome package. You do have foot room to step on them. I wear a size 13 shoe. I haven't tried them when they are wet, yet...any minute now! I live in Washington! They dont appear to be slippery. It will probably depend on what kind of shoe you are wearing.

I got those rails too. What do you guys with them think about adding some 3/16 strap metal about 3 inches wide under there along the length right under the seam or threshold of the body. I think you could still come down on a rock that could get up in there. It would provide a smooth slide if you did. Im going to look into that at the shop tomorrow.

Zoomie,
Let's see some detailed pics - like under the rig, full side shot, mounting attachments, etc. Don't be a cheapskate on the pics, man!
