Passenger Door Sill Rattle
Has anyone experienced a rattle near their H3's passenger door? The rattle in mine is eminating from under the plastic sill cover and it almost sounds like a loose nut or pebble inside, sliding back and forth during hard braking and acceleration. How does the plate detach from the metal portion of the seal? Perhaps I can locate the item making the noise to let everyone know in the event this is a common, unresolved issue.

- I thought the same thing, regarding a foreign object of possession. Unfortunately, it wasn't that easy....

Re: Passenger Door Sill Rattle
I had a friend at a garage pull the sill plate for me today (he knew where the clips were). We foudn nothing- and the noise is still eminating from that area. Could it be something in the frame or rocker that has come loose?

Could be something in there. If it sounds metallic, run a magnet back and forth and see if you can hear it sliding. If so, take it to one of the holes and try and get out.
If too large, spray a little foam on it to hold in place, or take it to the dealer.

Re: Passenger Door Sill Rattle
Thanks f5! I'll try that. To me, it sounds like a screw or perhaps a small nut...

Re: Passenger Door Sill Rattle
Just normal insulating foam from Home Depot works great. I had a bolt in my Jeep that fell into the frame rail from the top and I tried for an hour to get it out through numerous holes. Just could not get it out through any of the holes. I went to Home Depot, purchased the foam, with a magnet got the screw right to the hole, foamed it to death, and the rattle was gone.
You can also insert another screw through the hole to hold something in place.
To be honest, it was not my idea, but a union tech I had in TN who worked for me. He was the best tech I have ever met, and when he retired, we lost one of the best union people I have ever met. He had one of the best work ethics of anyone.

Re: Passenger Door Sill Rattle
H3.007, did you ever find out what was making that rattle? If not, did you use f5fstop's suggestion of a magnet and foam? Just curious.

Re: Passenger Door Sill Rattle
Hey f5- are there plugs underneath the rockers so I can access the internal space for the magnet / foam trick?
