Yeah, the ordeal freaked my wife out much more than me. But she got over it when the bandaids came out. Still sad though..

If I recall correctly, it was in the neighborhood of $4K...maybe 3500. Was not more than 4k for sure. They had to replace that rear panel and they also replaced that window as well as it had scratched into, although it did not break it.

That reminds me, if anyone needs and extra driver side rear window, ping me....I got an extra with a scratch.

And sorry to hijack your thread Shawn, it was not my intention. When you get to a point that you want to sell those rock sliders, I would like to talk to you about them.

I tell you though, now you guys got me thinking about putting Rhino Lining on the doors, but I think it might come off pretty easily. Thoughts?

The "stuff" is Line-x and lots of folks are using it.....does NOT scratch easily and is about as close to "bullet proof" as you can get for a spray on.....

I've had a skid plate coated for over a year with great results!!

Just did my grill 'cause i got tired of touching up the chips...

I just never liked the plastic.... I had already replaced the drls with piaas but in the stock valance they have no protection at all. My driving off road is in the north GA mountains.. dirt, some rocks but lots of logs and branches that flip up.....Would add too that besides being beefier the valance is Line-x coated...

Fabricating the valance out of steel gives us more options. Now we can remove the two corner pieces (wings if you will) and replace them with some that can support off-road or driving lights. We can also now support a heavier grill guard from the valance if we choose.Plus the plastic is not going to protect the front corner of you hood very well.

Oh…I forgot the picture dose not do it justice. The Valance dose not look stock when you are standing in front of it.
My feelings do not get hurt that easy, but I will defend my products. I will answer any intelligent questions. What I will not answer is questions from people who are just trying to be abusive. There is no gain in that. I do not participate in Flaming giving or receiving. I will share the way I build parts in an open manner if you have a suggestion I will listen. You can see most of the work I do from my web page. I try to help anyone who is building their own parts for their personal truck also.

See You on the Trail
