Default Leveling Question?

I was wondering if anyone that leveled thier H3 by turning the t-Bars ran in to any premature CV joint failure? turning the T-Bars so your front ride height is 24" does that but your Axle at a crazy angle?

The reason i ask is i leveled a S10 blazer and my CV joints only lasted a few months before i had to replace them.

Thanks
Shawn

Unhappy Re: Leveling Question?

Had mine at 24.25", for about 3 months; CV's on both sides are shot...brought it in this morning and of course, dealer says not under warrenty due to shaft angles after torsion bar adjustment. crap.

Does any know of an aftermarket set of CV's or shafts that are designed for a "leveled" front end?? Or some kind of kit to remedy, Before I start forking out money to have stock parts replaced?

24" and higher is too much IMO. ..for exactly what the origninal post states.

I have been running mine at 23.50 to 23.75 tops. Mine settled a bit. My old H3 has over 60,000 on it now and that one is at 23.50 with no issues running 35's. This ALpha has 35" tires on it as well without issues.

FWIW, I started mine at 24.25 and took one look at the angles. Too high. 23.50 sits about as far as I would want those angles. I feel it's a safe ride height or better yet 23.25 will allow you to load your truck and still be mostly level. At 23.50 and a load of cargo, dogs, camping gear. the headlights are pointed at the sky somewhat. The rear shackle mod would take care of that if you wanted to though. Hope that helps some.

Center of the front hub to the fender lip.

Mine has been at 23.6" for 37K, no problems.

PS: A 3 is in a different world class entirely from an S10. Different planet.

Ride firmness is not changed by a T Bar adjustment, the spring rate does not cange, only the rotation of the bar is changed. You may need new longer fron shocks if you just think you have to have the nose at 24" or more.

I just raised my truck with new Torsion Keys... super easy to do(took 15 minutes)... never any problem with premature wear... looks amazing!
